What is the scope of coverage for the Grab Driver, and Passengers?
Regionally, coverage shall begin from the moment the Grab Driver accepts a Grab Passenger booking up to the end of the booking as recorded through the Policyholder's service booking system, or when the Grab Passenger has alighted from the Grab private vehicle and shut the Grab Car door, whichever occurs last.
I booked a Grab ride for my friend but did not take the ride myself. Will my friend still be covered by the insurance?
Yes, as this is an unnamed policy, as long as we can establish that the passenger riding the car at the time of the accident was the intended one, he/she will be covered.
Is there insurance coverage for Grab rides overseas?
The geographical scope of cover is restricted to the country of Grab operation only.
Is there insurance coverage for medical treatment that was done outside of Grab operation areas?
Yes, up to the policy limit
Can I claim my medical cost from my personal insurance and Grab insurance at the same time?
No. You can only claim up to your incurred medical bills in total from all insurance policies.
This insurance policy will cover in-excess of any local Motor Insurance Policy
Can I claim for medical treatment from Chinese medical practitioner or chiropractor instead of a general practitioner?
No. You are required to seek medical treatment with a regulatory registered doctor
When must I report the accident to Grab?
Within 24 hours if hospitalisation is not required. Late claims will be handled on a case by case basis.
If hospitalisation is required, please notify Grab as early as you are medically fit to do so
How do I submit an insurance claim?
Write in to Grab to report on your accident and the appropriate department will guide you through the post-accident process.
